Ronnie Lamarque To Be Featured In New Orleans Jazz Fest Lineup?

August 29, 2018 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

In New Orleans, the last weekend of April and the first weekend in May are synonymous with Jazz Fest! The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is a celebration of the music and culture of New Orleans and extends far beyond the festival set up at the Fairgrounds. Various clubs, venues, and restaurants join in on the fun and often put on unaffiliated celebrations of their own. Aside from the music, most New Orleanians probably think about the food when someone mentions Jazz Fest. Crawfish Monica, alligator sausage poboys, cochon de lait sandwiches, crawfish beignets… we could go on!

The 2018 Festival takes place April 27 through May 6, and it will be the 49th annual celebration. Over the years Jazz Fest has been recognized nationally, including being named the Festival of the Year four times by Pollstar magazine. Jazz Fest time is a time where the entire city of New Orleans comes together to celebrate our culture, food, and the talent that is unique to our city. Jazz Fest always makes a point to preserve and promote our local Louisiana talent by allowing locals to perform at the festival.

It’s no doubt that Jazz Fest 2019 will be a massive spectacle. It will be the 50th annual celebration! The festival and the city are sure to go all out. We believe that Ronnie Lamarque is the perfect Louisiana native to perform at Jazz Fest 2019! We have to agree with NOLA.com writer Doug MacCash when we say that Ronnie has earned it.

Ronnie Lamarque is an instantly recognizable New Orleans icon. His performance on America’s Got Talent only proves that Ronnie’s got talent and could appeal to both NOLA natives and curious tourists. Let’s show the world that Louisiana’s got talent by putting Ronnie Lamarque on the 2019 Jazz Fest schedule!

The 2020 Ford Bronco

April 16, 2018 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

After years of teasing, Ford’s President of the Americas Joe Hinrichs and Vice President of Global Development confirmed the Bronco’s comeback last year. One of the most famous, (or infamous) Ford Broncos are for sale currently: OJ Simpson’s. For those of you that are looking for a Ford Bronco that is less famous, trust no dealership other than Lamarque Ford. If you are still interested in purchasing the white Ford Bronco that Mr. Simpson once drove, here are the details.

This Bronco may have led police on one of the wildest police chases in history. Mike Gilbert happens to own this Ford Bronco and thinks that he can get between $750,000 to One million. The SUV is currently sitting in the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Last August, the famous Bronco has been showcased on Pawn Stars on The History Channel. On the show, customers present their stuff at a Las Vegas pawn shop and discuss a price with the owners and decide whether to sell. A previous offer of $500,000 was made for the Bronco, but the owner Mike Gilbert says that he wants to sell it for much more and give the money to his kids.

For those of you who want a Bronco in general, there are many reasons why the Bronco is still a sought out SUV. Ford made sure the Bronco was versatile, offering it in three configurations: a pickup, wagon, and roadster. All three modes rode on a 92-inch wheelbase. The Bronco was specifically engineered to handle a higher payload.

Many Ford experts believe that nostalgia alone has kept the Ford Bronco in people’s minds and have helped the fan base highly anticipate the new 2020 Ford Bronco. If you are looking for a Ford in Louisiana, Lamarque Ford stays unmatched in knowledge, expertise, and helpfulness. Come to Lamarque Ford and see why we are the best Ford Dealership around!

Ford: Evolution of the Logo

October 30, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Ford, one of America’s culturally and historically iconic companies, underwent a series of branding changes as the decades passed by. Ford’s logo is now among the most recognizable in the world, but it took some steps to get there.

ford11903- this was the first logo to be placed onto a car. For the first few years, its nouveau border was a huge hit, as it was very fashionable at the time.

ford21906- remembered as the “script with wings”, this logo was used on all Ford cars up to about 1910 when the lettering was revised in the form that is still used today. The script lettering became registered in the US Patent Office in 1909.

ford31912- Ford used the outline of an eagle to symbolize speed, grace, and lightness. This logo was printed both in dark blue and orange, and carried the slogan “The Universal Car”. Henry Ford ordered that the logo be changed out of his personal dislike for the design.

1927- With the same deep royal blue background as today’s, this logo lasted until the end of the ’50s.

ford5Present- the blue and silver Ford oval has been used as an identification badge on all Ford vehicles for the sake of being more recognizable and consistent. It is now used on all recently made Ford vehicles all over the world.

Ford Fusion Speeds Past the Competition

October 28, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

The Ford Fusion, which has been Ford’s prized racing car for nearly a decade, racked up another victory at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series last weekend with NASCAR living legend Joey Logano.

cq5dam.web.1024.768While Logano had a big day, so did Ford, whose cars lead the racers to three top-10 finishers of the Sprint Cup Series (Joey Logano 1st, Ryan Blaney 7th, and Brad Keselowski 9th).

Logano has been criticized in the past for his alleged overly-aggressive style and baiting his opponents using his maneuverability, but you gotta do what you gotta do to win, especially when you’re on-the-go.

IN TRANSIT: Let’s Go Places

October 28, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

The Ford Transit is the #1 selling commercial van in America. It’s also extremely customizable to fit the needs of the owner.

The Ford Transit is the vehicle of choice for mobile blood donation clinics at half a dozen cities in America-perfect for the average worker who wants to donate blood in a convenient way.

This dog rescue van involved the removal of all seats to maximize space for the stationary cages. This particular van in Boston transports the pups to a local farm where the dogs are held until homes are found for them.

Food trucks have become a roaring trend in the past five years. This van was customized with an outside design that promoted this coffee and pastry business and an inside that provided compartments for the products in a way that the owners had in mind.

Who knew that the same van that can sell coffee and take your blood is also awesome for partying? Whether it’s for prom, a bachelor/bachelorette party, or splurging on a night out in the Quarter, turning the Transit into a party bus can fit up to 15 fun-lovers.

Ford: To Protect and Serve- the Police Interceptor

October 25, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Ford is keeping you safe, and not just with seat belts and airbags.

As of 2015, the Ford Police Interceptor became the best selling police vehicle in America. Since its introduction to the market in 2012, the Police Interceptor saw its market share climb from 40% to 61% among law enforcement vehicles in the US, and it’s still forecasted to increase.

It comes as both a sedan and utility vehicle. While the sedan has generated more sales nationally, the utility edition is the only utility-sized vehicle currently available to the police, which is perfect for when more space is needed (especially for canines).

So whenever you’re inside the car or outside of it, Ford’s always got you protected.

Ford’s About More than Cars

October 18, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Aside from being the best-selling automaker in the world, Ford has a few side projects in its portfolio. Here’s a list of other activities that Ford is involved with:att-stadium

Sports

Ford participates in sports both nationally and internationally. It has a stake in the AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys. It also has a stake with Roush Fenway Racing’s NASCAR team, as well as various drag racing platforms. Internationally, Ford sponsors New Zealand Rugby Union, which is a big deal, since European sports tend to wear the sponsors’s logos on the front of their jerseys rather than the team names, unlike in American sports.

Music

Ford also is an active sponsor of music, a platform it uses to engage young adults and showcase vehicle technology. The automaker in 2013 worked with Live Nation to create a digital content series on LiveNation.com that featured music fans using a Ford Fiesta to locate items for their favorite bands’ tour riders.

Entertainment

Ford works heavily with major film award events. Ties include the Grammys, Film Independent Spirit Awards and a new partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival presented by AT&T.

Pirates In New Orleans

September 29, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

jean-lafitteThe history of piracy in New Orleans goes back to the beginning of the 19th century. This can be traced to Jean Lafitte, a French-American who hailed as the Louisiana purchase was becoming official. However, Lafitte created his own intricate method of piracy. While he hailed from New Orleans and spent his younger years exploring the wetlands and bayou country south of New Orleans, he would soon use the city to house a port that facilitated the trading and exchanging of smuggled goods. The pirates were men he employed to be enforcers and a sales force. Lafitte is a legend in his own rite, as 1825 (only 2 years after his death), piracy along the Gulf of Mexico had essentially been eradicated to this day, as well as legends about his life story leave him compared to the likes of King Arthur and Robin Hood.

Bigfoot – BIG NEWS

September 29, 2015 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

DB383049_1-w900Those who witnessed Bigfoot in our commercial featuring our very own Ronnie Lamarque can breathe a sigh of relief- the monster would never live in New Orleans. The humid and hot climate that one can only grow to tolerate would be way too difficult for the beast to bare, as its fur coating would certainly make it prone to heat exhaustion. In fact, Bigfoot would likely only be found in the Pacific Northwest region (Washington and Oregon for example) and in mountainous areas that provide caves as shelters. Bigfoot would also never survive the water boil advisories in New Orleans, because it dehydrates rather easily. You can now enjoy sleeping with both of your eyes closed.
