The Advantages of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles

June 28, 2017 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Purchasing a car is one of the more complex decisions to make as an adult. Because drivers expect to keep their vehicles for a few years, they want to find something that can be reliable as well as cost-effective. For those new to the auto business, there are quite a few certified pre-owned car advantages

To start off, a certified pre-owned car or a CPO car usually describes previously used vehicles with limited age sold by a new car dealership. Unlike ordinary used cars, a CPO vehicle goes through a thorough manufacturer inspection to ascertain the mileage, mechanical quality, and physical condition before resale. Because these inspections are manufacturer-based, the stamp of “certified” guarantees a higher quality for customer approval above an average car dealership. While this places its price higher than that of a traditional used car, the CPO vehicle provides plenty of additional benefits to earn its money’s worth.

Compared to a brand-new vehicle, the certified pre-owned car advantages more than make up for its older status. For instance, because a CPO car is usually older than one year, the vehicle does not suffer from the usual depreciation that occurs after purchase. In fact, the certified quality makes it perfect for a higher resale value, especially without the liability of a previous collision. In addition, the “certified” label now extends to various non-luxury brands. Finally, although a CPO vehicle can cost more than an average used car, many deals offer a warranty upon purchase to guarantee the customer gets their money’s worth.

The warranties that come from certified pre-owned car advantages tend to vary from brand to brand, but most offer companies offer some coverage for a CPO vehicle. Some offer bumper-to-bumper protection for a couple of years after purchase while others cover powertrain protection for much longer. Depending on the brand, additional benefits can include no-cost maintenance, roadside assistance, and replacement transportation. Regardless of the name, protection plans for these cars begin after the original warranty plan runs out, giving a clean slate for the new owner. Consequently, for many looking to purchase a vehicle, it can pay off to look for offers on used vehicles.

Of course, since these inspections and qualifications come from manufacturer centers, it benefits the driver to conduct independent research when considering a purchase. The good news about Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicles is that Every Ford Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle comes with:

  • 12-month/12,000 mile comprehensive limited warranty coverage*
  • Seven-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty coverage*
  • A 172-point vehicle inspection.
  • CARFAX ® Vehicle History Report Certified

Pre-owned car advantages can be an enticing, but they do not always replace old-fashioned sensibilities. However, it never hurts to ask the dealership about inspection details or warranty policies. With a certified vehicle, even one that was pre-owned, drivers should still expect quality above all else. If you are interested in a certified pre-owned vehicle, take a look at Lamarque Ford’s inventory!

John Cena Displays 2006 Ford GT

June 9, 2017 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

John Cena has made his career as one of the most popular WWE wrestlers as well as an action film star and occasional rapper, but his latest breakout could be in the motor business. In the middle of making his name in wrestling or movies, he also moonlights as a host on an online show titled Auto Geek which highlights some of his more notable cars. In the latest video, John Cena highlights his Ford GT, an American muscle vehicle he has owned since 2006. The Ford GT is a historically significant vehicle. The GT40, most notably, is a consecutive four-time winner of the 24 Hours of LeMans.

Throughout the 4:39 video, John Cena displays his pristine and powerful Ford GT which includes many of the features commonly found in the 2006 model such as forged alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and the McIntosh Sound System. However, the vehicle in the video avoids the traditional racing stripes of the model to create a less distinct appearance as it drives, something Cena prefers in his model. Though the car only boasts 1,250 miles after more than ten years, the power of the Ford GT is undeniable with a 5.4-liter V8 able to roll out 550 hp. The result creates a car able to go from zero to sixty in approximately 3.3 seconds, something John Cena calls “powerful” and uniquely “American.”

John Cena has always shown off his love of American cars which includes a remarkable classic assortment, with some vehicles dating back to 1966. However, he’s also a fan of mixing his tastes with more than a few modern additions. Even in this latest video, Cena hints that he may be considering purchasing the 2017 Ford GT to buffer his collection. Perhaps we can hope to see the car and all its impressive features in the latest episode of Auto Geek. If you are looking into purchasing Ford vehicle, take a look at our inventory at Lamarque Ford!
