Lamarque 25 Days of Christmas

November 30, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

The holidays are a time for joy, togetherness, and giving. No matter what you celebrate or believe in, the holidays evoke a feeling of warmth and nostalgia maybe through a family tradition, a special holiday party, or even a just a pumpkin spice latte to warm up the day.

Starting in November, everyone gears up and it’s easy to look out with your rose colored glasses and forget about the people who are maybe a little stressed about making ends meet; or maybe don’t get to be at home with their family this holiday season.

While hardships can fall on people at any time of the year, the holidays can be especially hard, which is why Lamarque Ford started its 25 Days of Christmas campaign (http://www.lamarque.com/twenty-five-days-of-christmas.htm). Starting November 23rd people can text in to be entered for a chance to win a $100 Toys “R” Us gift card. For every dollar Lamarque gives away to the lucky winners, they will also match in donations to the New Orleans Children’s Hospital.

Toys can’t bring the kids health, but they can bring a smile to their face. The holidays come whether we are healthy or sick, wealthy or poor; and gifts like these can brighten everyone’s day and bring warmth to the holiday season.

Get Ready for the Best Fall Car Deals

November 30, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Everyone loves a good deal. No matter how much money you have to spend, whether it’s $10 or $1 million, you always want to spend wisely and get the most out of your money. At Lamarque Ford, we try to give every one of our customers the best deal we can. And although we know we have good deals, it’s always nice for someone else to recognize it. AOL recently posted an article naming the top 10 new car deals, and three of them are Fords.

We are flattered to have this recognition, but not surprised. For the month of October, AOL featured the Ford Focus, the Ford Explorer, and the Ford Escape. These were all cars that were sold for less than the sticker price, meaning we made a good deal for you.

People often think they can’t afford a new car; the sticker prices sometimes scare them off, but the reality is our cars are affordable. The Ford Escape sold at an average of almost six percent less than the sticker price, the Ford Explorer at over six percent off, and the Ford Focus at nearly 10 percent off the sticker price.

These are savings that make new cars affordable for our customers. At 10 percent off, a new Ford Focus can be within everyone’s reach this fall. Something we, at Lamarque Ford, think is pretty great.

Share the Truck Month Love

November 28, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

At Ford, we love trucks all year round. But during the month of November, we love them even more. Ford dealerships across the country are celebrating their love for Ford trucks this month with specials and deals that just can’t be beat. Here at Lamarque, we feel the same way. Ford trucks are tough and we want everyone to know it.

Our low prices are even lower, because we want everyone to be able to enjoy Ford trucks as much as we do. We have tons of promotions, but a couple of our favorites include great deals on the all new Ford F-150 Eco Boost and lease vehicles. Everyone can take $12,000 of the all new F-150 Eco Boost and lease for $299 for 36 months with $2500 down at signing (plus tax, title, and license) for 10,500 miles a year with approved credit and vehicle 1995 or newer.

Truck month gets everyone at Lamarque Ford excited and we want you to be excited too. We invite everyone to stop by the dealership and Kenner and talk to Ronnie or one of our other esteemed salesmen. At Lamarque Ford, we want to put you in the best vehicle possible.

If you have any questions or concerns about truck month, please let us know! You can always call us at 1-800-NEW-FORD and we’ll help you in any way we can. This month, we’re all about trucks and hope you are too!

Lamarque for the Cure

November 27, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

New Orleans is a community known for just that, community. No matter the events or the adversity, New Orleanians always band together to overcome. This has been true of hurricane after hurricane, namely Hurricane Katrina, but has also been true on smaller scales. Lamarque Ford is just one of several businesses and people that come together for the Susan G Komen walk for breast cancer every year.

This year was no different. Men and women came together for the Race for the Cure on October 26th to run or walk a 5K to benefit the Susan G Komen breast cancer foundation. Breast cancer affects 200,000 people per year, and, because of that, everyone has some connection to this disease or knows someone who does. This connection with the community unites us and connects us on this one day a year.

For Lamarque Ford, supporting this walk is about supporting the people in our community. Much like our philosophy on selling cars, we want to help people. Whether it be by finding them the best and safest car for their family, or helping to raise money to protect their children, wives, sisters, and mothers, Lamarque wants to help.

This year, New Orleans did even more to help the cause. Jason Aldean hosted a concert here and donated over $575,000 to the Susan G Komen Foundation. The opportunities for support are endless, so if you haven’t been involved in the past, we encourage you to get involved next year. Next year’s walk will be on October 25th, 2014 and we can’t wait to see everyone there.

Stay on the Go with Keyless Entry

November 26, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Have you ever had that moment where you have so much in your hands you’re about to drop it all? Maybe you are juggling your groceries for the week, a screaming child, and a month’s worth of paperwork your boss needs ASAP. Whatever it is, we’ve all been there. Sometimes you just can’t free up a hand to dig in your pocket or bag to find your car key. We get that.

That’s why Ford motors invented keyless entry. Instead of shifting your baby to your other hip or dropping all of your fresh groceries, you can simply enter a code on your car door. As the exclusive car brand that has keyless entry, Ford understands that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

Ford Vehicles can come with a variety of features. And while people are deciding which features to pick for their car, they are often more attracted to the more aesthetically pleasing ones like savvy radios and GPS’s, or even spoilers and trailer hitches. But keyless entry is actually one of the most popular and useful accessories people can choose. It’s one of the few features that is used every day over and over again. It’s the accessory to get if you are always on the go, without any time to spare.

Visit Lamarque Ford to view a selection of vehicles equipped with keyless entry.

How to Find the Perfect Tire for Your Vehicle

November 24, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

A tire may just look like a tire to the naked eye, but there are actually a lot of specifications entailed in every tire. To make your vehicle run as efficiently as possible, it is imperative to choose the right kind of tire. The best way to make sure you are getting the right kind of tire for your car is to look at the owner’s manual. The manual should specify the kind of tire as well as some certain dimensions to look for.

Here, we’ve outlined five different kinds of tires you can get for your vehicle:

1. All-Season tires—These tires are the best all-around tire because they are good for performance, traction under wet conditions, mileage, and a decrease in noise. They are also the standard tire for most new vehicles.

2. All-Terrain tires–These tires are ideal for use on small trucks and SUVs. They have sidewalls that are very sturdy and feature large tread block patterns to pull mud and improve the grip on surfaces like mud, clay, and snow.

3. Winter-Use tires—These tires are perfect for low-temperature conditions because they are made of soft rubber that heats up when driving in the cold. They provide extra grip on snow and ice for maximum safety.

4. Performance tires—These are the tires you want to get to maximize road contact. They are engineered for high speed and aggressive driving and feature a softer rubber compound that increases traction and improves cornering, as well as lower profiles to reduce sidewall flex under stress.

5. Off-Road tires (Mud Terrain)—You want these tires for non-highway use, because they feature chunky tread blocks and a higher void ration than other tires, in order to maximize traction in off-road situations including mud, clay, and snow.

Most people don’t even realize all of the options for tires, but the first place to start is always the owner’s manual or a good tire finding tool. The Lamarque Ford service technicians are happy to help you find the perfect tire for your vehicle.

A Time to Give and a Time to Shop

November 22, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Black Friday

Black Friday

After the turkey is eaten and the thanks are given, there’s only one thing on every American’s mind: shopping. As soon as the thoughtfulness and family time is over, it’s time to get down and dirty with the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday ! Shoppers arrive at stores starting at midnight on Thanksgiving day and excitedly wait for their favorite stores to open to get the best deals of the year.

Last year alone, consumers spent $59 billion on Black Friday, making it the highest grossing day of the year. An approximated 247 million people spent an average of $423 each over the Black Weekend, which now goes from Thursday to Sunday. And this doesn’t even begin to include the second highest grossing day of the year, Cyber Monday.

With the growth of online shopping, Cyber Monday (the Monday following Thanksgiving) has become a huge day for online deals! Last year there was a total of $1.5 billion spent on Cyber Monday. Although there is significantly less spent on Cyber Monday than during Black Friday weekend, it is growing substantially. In 2012 there was a 17 percent increase in spending from the previous year.

Even though online shopping is growing quickly, Cyber Monday shopping is not expected to surpass Black Friday. In addition to Black Friday spending beating out Cyber Monday shopping nearly 40-fold, Cyber Monday shopping only grew half as much from 2011 to 2012 compared to 2010 to 2011.

So enjoy your turkeys and family time before gearing up for the biggest shopping days of the year! And check out Lamarque Ford’s deals as well.

Who Dat Say They Gonna Beat ALS?

November 20, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

Team Gleason

Team Gleason

Around here, Saints Football might as well be religion. If there’s one thing that all New Orleanians can come together and find common ground on, it’s their love for the Saints. So, when longtime Saints player Steve Gleason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) , it was no surprise that the community surrounded him with its support and unconditional love.

His diagnosis in January of 2011 was a shock to the community, but also an opportunity. Instead of sulking in his misfortune or falling out of touch with his team, Steve made it his mission to use his diagnosis to help others. With the help of his friends and family, Steve started Team Gleason, a foundation to help raise awareness for ALS, funding to help those diagnosed and hopefully find a cure.

Although ALS is considered to be a terminal neuro-muscular disease, Steve is still motivated to pursue his dreams and work towards his goals. And while he will most likely remain remembered for his blocked punt the night the New Orleans Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina, his most recent endeavors are remarkable nonetheless.

The evolution of Team Gleason and its relationship with the Saints and the New Orleans community is ongoing, and continues to help those affected and unite the community as a whole. Steve has always been a giver—during his eight years on the Saints he continuously donated his hair to Locks of Love, and continues to be one through his efforts on Team Gleason.

Lamarque Ford is a proud supporter of our community and everyone in it.

Exotic Racing: Fun for the Whole Family

November 20, 2013 By Matthew Hritz

ostriches20n-2-webIt’s almost that time of year again! Not only do we have the holidays to look forward to, but we also have the racetrack. In New Orleans, it’s safe to say that everyone has at least one fond memory of going to the track either to bet or just to watch. At Lamarque Ford, we always look forward to the races and the nights of family fun they entail. Most people don’t think of the track as a family outing, but with the exotic racing at Starlight Racing it is a really fun event.

To start off the season, there will be Ostrich, Camel and Mascot racing in addition to the thoroughbred racing later in the night. These exotic races are an exciting way to start the night out, especially for guests with kids.

Going to the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots is being a part of history. It is the third oldest racetrack in the country and has been in operation since 1872. Like much of New Orleans, the track is a place where generation after generation has enjoyed spending their time. It’s a New Orleans tradition to bet on the slots and relax with loved ones.

The season is only just beginning. Starlight and exotic racing starts November 22nd, but the racing season runs through March. The Lamarque Ford family will be enjoying the beginning of the season and looks forward to seeing everyone else out at the track!

On Your Mark, Set, Race to the Lake!

November 19, 2013 By Matthew Hritz Leave a Comment

One of the most exciting events in Jefferson Parish is just around the corner, Race to the Lake. This 10K race extends from Lafreniere Park to Kenner’s Laketown. As a title sponsor, Lamarque Ford anticipates this will be a fun event that Jefferson Parish and greater New Orleans residents can enjoy in the coming years.

Race to the Lake is more than just a 10K run, though, it is accompanied by a series of events during the weekend and after the race. Race to the Lake hosts an expo for the runners and other members of the community on Friday and Saturday at Pontchartrain Center, with pre-holiday specials on running gear, outdoor sports equipment, boats, and more. There is also a festival after the run that is open to the entire community.

This year, the post-run festivities include acts including Rebirth Brass Band, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Flow Tribe. The after party is a chance for the community to come together and celebrate. This event is always a blast and Lamarque Ford is proud to be in great company with Team Gleason, Massey’s Outfitters, and many other important sponsors.

Registration for Race to the Lake is still open and costs $40 per entry. We hope to see everyone there participating and celebrating Jefferson Parish’s signature recreational event of the year.
