A few years ago, the Ford Motor Company unveiled a new branding campaign using the phrase “Go Further” with the promise of a better Ford. Over time, this phrase came to describe not only the quality of the vehicle but the quality of the business as well. In 2016, Ford dealers donated more than $100 million and 800,000 hours to various charities and causes. This spells out a good message for the customers and employees of any Ford dealer Louisiana has to offer.
News of the charitable achievements came from the 17th-annual Salute to Dealers Awards held at the 2017 National Automobile Dealers Association Convention and Expo in New Orleans earlier this year. Though this marks a noteworthy achievement for the long-standing motor company, it is hardly surprising that a company with such a storied history of giving back to the community would achieve such a goal. The Salute to Dealers Awards, in fact, were originally founded to help recognize the dealers who go beyond the boundaries of their job descriptions to help the communities they serve. As Edsel B. Ford II, chairman of the Salute to Dealers Awards program and member of the Ford Board of Directors, said “I am continually amazed by the selfless efforts of our honorees and nominees who choose to make a difference in people’s lives every day.”
Among the charitable causes, children’s services topped the list with sixty-nine percent of dealers donating to children’s causes, followed by sixty-two percent of dealers giving to education and scholarship funds. Additional charity services included fifty-six percent of dealers giving to veteran causes and forty-six percent donating to first-responder efforts. Various Ford dealerships have donated to a variety of community needs, but the company has proven that Ford dealers are willing to go above and beyond for their communities.
