If you want to know why truck enthusiasts love diesels, look no further than the newly-released specs for the 2018 Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel: 440 lb-ft of torque, an 11,400-pound towing capacity, a 2,020-pound payload rating, and an estimated 30 MPG on the highway. Spring 2018 marks the first time a diesel engine will be found under the hood of Ford’s F-150 full-size truck, with the inclusion of a newly-developed 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbocharged V6 diesel engine. For years, the Power Stroke name has been synonymous with the Super Duty lineup of heavy-duty pickup trucks Ford produces. The new 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbocharged V6 diesel engine found in 2018 F-150 models was developed by the same powertrain team as the Super Duty trucks, so it only makes sense for the factory to deliver a best-in-class 250 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque.
There are three versions of the new truck coming in 2018; Ford dealers will sell them in the price range of $51,080 to $60,200, depending on what model you choose and what additions you make to the truck to enhance its power on the road. Ford will begin taking orders for the 2018 F-150 with the Power Stroke V6 diesel engine beginning this month, and deliveries set to begin this spring.
